One Good Thing Deserves Another!

So if you know me even a little you know that I am deep in the midst of job searching and interviewing.  You would also know that I am passionate about nature and being outdoors as much as possible.  Put these two things together and you get what I hope will become a great redirection of a career, but I am getting way ahead of myself!

I have been lucky enough to have a three initial interviews and a follow-up interview for one position with a follow-up for another job scheduled for this week.  As such, Steve and I decided it was appropriate to celebrate my positive experiences thus far.  It was in this frame of mind on Friday that we went to lunch at one of our favorite places in Athens, Trappeze Pub: http://trappezepub.com/

We sat on the patio (aka sidewalk w/tables) as we enjoyed delicious marinated olives (a MUST try!) and a few half pours of Southern Tier Brewing Company’s Eurotrash Pilz.  This light Czech Pilsner was a perfect match for the sunny, marginally warm day.

After delectable lunches of a Banh Mi sandwich with rosemary & garlic fries (for me) and French onion soup with a grilled Gruyere sandwich (for Steve), we meandered around downtown and made our way into Masada Leather & Outdoor (http://www.masadaleather.com/).  This drool-worthy store had me doing just that as I took in beautiful jackets, boots, and much more.  To my extreme pleasure, they were having a winter sale, but things still seemed out of my pocketbook range.  That is until I found the most stellar coat by Columbia (http://www.columbia.com/Women%27s-Whirlibird-Interchange-Jacket/SL7843,default,pd.html).  Isn’t this a beauty?!

Someday you will be mine!

Alas, even at 40% off this amazing jacket is out of my price range…unless it is a reward for nailing down a job.  After speaking to my sister, who is deployed to Saudi Arabia, we decided this jacket would be my reward for securing a post-graduation job!

Now to decide what I will get myself as a reward for passing my upcoming comprehensive exams, which I should be studying for at this moment.  I am thinking these… (http://www.sportiva.com/products/footwear/climbingapproach/nago-womens)

A dream for my feet...

  1. […] One new technology that I have fallen in love with is Columbia Sportswear’s Omni-Heat.  These amazing little reflective silver dots are one of my new favorite things!  I was so intrigued by this technology when I first hear about it from my friend Gina this past winter (after she went heliskiing in AK…I have the coolest friends!).  Naturally, when I accepted my job in Cody,  I went right out and bought an awesome new winter coat which has this technology (the coat in this post in fact, One good thing deserves another).
